Characteristics and usage of A709 grade 50 carbon steel plate sheet

A709 grade 50 carbon steel plate sheet, Q460 includes the following steel grades: Q460C, Q460NC, Q460ND, Q460NE, Q460MC, Q460MD, Q460ME. Q460MC steel plate executive standard: GB / T1591-2018 low alloy high strength structural steel standard. Delivery status of Q460MC steel plate: TMCP. Q460MC steel plate chemical composition: C≤0.16, Si≤0.60, Mn≤1.70, P≤0.030, S≤0.030, Nb 0.01-0.05, V 0.01-0.12, Ti 0.006-0.05, Cr≤0.30, Ni≤0.80, Cu≤0.40, Mo≤0.20, N≤0.015, Als≥0.015.

After extrusion, the A709 grade 50 carbon steel plate sheet tube shall be removed for sizing. The sizing machine uses a cone-shaped bit to rotate into the steel embryo at high speed to drill holes to form steel pipes. The inner diameter of the steel pipe is determined by the outer diameter length of the drill bit of the sizing machine. After sizing, the steel pipe will enter the cooling tower and be cooled by water spray. After cooling, the steel pipe will be straightened. After straightening, the steel pipe is sent to the metal flaw detector (or hydraulic test) by the conveyor belt for internal flaw detection.

Tata Steel Europe plans to cut 1250 jobs.
