SM570 carbon steel plate sheet performance

Weldability is a measure of the hot workability of steel. Weldability can be divided into weldability in construction and weldability in use. Weldability in construction refers to the sensitivity of cracking in weld metal and near seam zone, and hardening sensitivity of steel in near seam zone. Good weldability means that under certain welding process conditions, the weld metal and steel near the seam do not produce cracks. Weldability in use means that the mechanical properties of weld and HAZ steel are not lower than those of base metal.

Quenching is a heat treatment process in which steel parts are heated to above the critical temperature, and after proper heat preservation, the parts are quickly cooled to room temperature in water or oil, so that martensite transformation occurs. The hardness of the quenched SM570 carbon steel plate sheet increases sharply. Quenching is to prepare the organization for adjusting and improving the performance of SM570 carbon steel plate sheet during tempering, while tempering determines the performance and life of the workpiece.
