Q420C steel belongs to low alloy high strength steel. Q420 is named as the steel with yield strength of 420MPa, C means the impact temperature is 0 ℃, and Q is the abbreviation of yield strength. Chemical composition of Q420C steel: C ≤ 0.20, Si ≤ 0.50, Mn ≤ 1.70, P ≤ 0.035, S ≤ 0.035, Nb ≤ 0.07, V ≤ 0.20, Ti ≤ 0.20, Cr ≤ 0.30, Ni ≤ 0.80, Cu ≤ 0.30, N ≤ 0.015, Mo ≤ 0.20. The mechanical properties of Q420C steel are: yield strength ≥ 340 Mpa, tensile strength 500-680 Mpa, elongation after fracture ≥ 18%, impact energy 34J. A514 Gr B steel material, Q420C steel has good mechanical properties and weldability, good cold and hot workability.

Composition characteristics of low alloy structural steel, A514 Gr B steel material: (1) Low carbon: the carbon content of low alloy structural steel is less than 0.20% due to the high requirements of toughness, weldability and cold formability. (2) The alloy elements such as manganese are added. (3) The addition of Nb, Ti or V and other auxiliary elements: a small amount of Nb, Ti or V forms fine carbides or carbonitrides in the steel, which is beneficial to obtain fine ferrite grains and improve the strength and toughness of low alloy structural steel. In addition, adding a small amount of copper (≤ 0.4%) and phosphorus (about 0.1%) can improve the corrosion resistance. The addition of a small amount of rare earth elements can remove sulfur and gas, purify the steel, and improve the toughness and process performance of low alloy structural steel.

The company received new orders from Peru customer for more than 900 tons of ASTM A36 steel plates A514 Gr B steel material. These A36 steel plates will be used in the "Belt and Road" project - a mining conveyor project in Peru.
