What is the difference between A514 grade Q steel material and carbon steel plates

Quenching is a heat treatment process in which steel parts are heated to above the critical temperature, and after proper heat preservation, the parts are quickly cooled to room temperature in water or oil, so that martensite transformation occurs. The hardness of the quenched A514 grade Q steel material increases sharply. Quenching is to prepare the organization for adjusting and improving the performance of A514 grade Q steel material during tempering, while tempering determines the performance and life of the workpiece.

We cooperated with the Peruvian government for many years. And supply them large diameter steel pipes and pipe fittings to support their Hydropower Station Projects. We do 100% UT, RT, Hydraulic test and so on tests for the A514 grade Q steel material steel pipes. And do PT, MT and so on tests for the pipe fittings. We published "Welding Procedure Qualification report" after production. And our mill will keep the test record in the documentary department for 5 years. If meet any problems in following application, we can check the test record easily and assist to solve problems at the first time.

P235GH steel material number under EN10028-2:2003 standard is 1.0345. This steel is a European pressure vessel steel. P235GH Mechanical properties: Tensile strength σb (350 ~ 480 MPa); Yield strength σs(215 MPa min.); Elongation ≥25%; Brinell hardness ≤105 ~ 140. A514 grade Q steel material, P235GH steel chemical composition (mass fraction,%): ≤0.16 C; ≤0.35 Si; 0.60 ~ 1.20 Mn; ≤0.025 P; ≤0.010 S; ≤0.30 Cr; ≤0.30 Ni; ≤0.30 Cu; ≤0.08 Mo; ≤0.02 V; ≤0.02 Nb; ≤0.012 N; ≤0.020 Al; ≤0.03 Ti.
