How to prevent cracks in SM400B carbon steel material cutting
The steel plate used for containers and pressure vessel has to bear different pressures and strengths due to the manufactured containers. The normal pressure is generally 31.4MPa or higher; the working temperature is usually between -20 ℃ -450 ℃, and sometimes lower than -20 ℃. According to the working conditions and processing technology of the container, the SM400B carbon steel material, steel plate used for the container must have good cold bending and welding performance. Besides, it should have good plasticity and toughness, high temperature short-term strength or long-term strength performance.
Molybdenum is a well known alloy element. Molybdenum can refine the grains of steel material, improve the hardenability and thermal strength, and maintain sufficient strength and creep resistance at high temperature. Adding molybdenum to SM400B carbon steel material, structural steel can improve mechanical properties. Molybdenum can also restrain the brittleness of alloy steel caused by quenching treatment.

In order to reduce the cold crack of wear-resistant steel plate cutting, the wear-resistant steel plate should be preheated when cutting. The thicker the wear-resistant steel plate is, the higher the hardness is, and the higher the corresponding preheating temperature is. The preheating temperature should not exceed 200.
