What is JIS carbon steel SM570 CS plate structural steel?

15CrMo alloy plate is a heat-resistant steel with pearlite structure, which has high thermal strength (δb≥440MPa) and oxidation resistance at high temperatures, and has a certain resistance to hydrogen corrosion. Due to the high content of Cr, C and other alloying elements in steel, the hardening tendency of JIS carbon steel SM570 CS plate and 15CrMo alloy plate is obvious and the weldability is poor. After welding, local high temperature tempering treatment should be carried out. The heat treatment process of 15CrMo alloy plate is as follows: the temperature rise rate is 200°C/h, the temperature is raised to 715°C for 1 hour and 15 minutes, the temperature drop rate is 100°C/h, and the temperature is reduced to 300°C before air cooling.

20G steel is boiler steel, which is similar to No. 20 carbon steel. The difference is that 20G steel has higher and stricter inspection standards than JIS carbon steel SM570 CS plate, No. 20 carbon steel for harmful impurities and internal defects. That is to say, 20G steel is specially produced for boiler pressure vessels. It is special purpose "No. 20 carbon steel". The use of 20G steel to make boilers is not because it is more resistant to burning than other steels such as JIS carbon steel SM570 CS plate, but because of its strength, toughness, ductility, weldability, temperature influence, fatigue fracture, price and cost, etc. 20G steel is most suitable for use in medium and low pressure boilers.

Boilers with different parameters, different capacities, and different structures have different JIS carbon steel SM570 CS plate, steel consumption rates. Boilers with small capacity and high steam parameters have high steel consumption. Boilers with low steam parameters mainly use low-carbon steel, while boilers with high parameters use a larger amount of heat-resistant alloy steel, and their cost is much higher. In addition, because the once-through boiler has no steam drum or downcomer, steel consumption has also been reduced.
